Pork Loin Roast On a Traeger Grill

Developed in 1985 by Joe Traeger, the patented Traeger pellet grill is one of the best home-based cooking devices that a person can own. The grills use electricity to power its ingeniously designed rotating auger, feeding small wood pellets into the grill's small fire pot. An internal electrical fan stokes the fire and keeps it burning hot and extremely consistent, allowing anyone operating the device to enjoy Traeger's trademark of remarkable cooking consistency. Grilling a pork loin roast on a Traeger is absolutely ideal, as the thick cut of meat requires a great deal of temperature consistency to deliver a mouthwatering and juicy end result. The Traeger, due to the burning of wood pellets, will also give your pork loin a delicious smoked flavor that is smoother, cleaner, and far more appetizing than what you could ever achieve with a tradition backyard grill or barbecuer. Get ready to take your pork loin roast on a Traeger grill recipe to the next level.

You'll Need The Following Items to Complete This Pork Loin Recipe

1. Traeger Wood Pellet Grill and Smoker - If you cannot stand cooking your food with a tedious gas or charcoal powdered grill then make the switch over to a Traeger grill today. Traeger grills are world-class cooking devices and are used by professional chefs, artisan culinary experts, BBQ pit masters, and amateur backyard cooks around the world. Using electricity to power the main grill and small and affordable wood pellets to burn within the internal fire chamber, you are guaranteed to get a precision and consistency in your cooking endeavors that you have likely never experienced before in your entire life. To complete this pork loin recipe, you'll need one of these premium grills in your possession.

2. Premium High-Quality German Lager Beer - One of the primary ingredients in this recipe is beer. Absolutely do not use a cheap canned beer, as it just will not produce the same delicious flavor that you're looking for. Instead, go to the store and purchase a premium bottled German lager, preferably something that has been locally brewed. Any time you buy beer it is always better to purchase it from a local beer crafter so that you give back to the local economy and keep local or state-wide businesses thriving. The recipe calls for 12 fluid ounces so be sure that you have enough beer to complete the recipe.

3. Large Roasting Pan - This recipe calls for a 3-pound pork loin, which is quite a large cut of meat. Be sure that you have a large roasting pan that can completely accommodate the meat. The more spacious your roasting pan is the more even your meat will cook. We also strongly recommend that you use the cleanest roasting pan possible, as you don't want to ruin the flavor of this premium pork loin roast by using a roasting pan that is burnt, dirty, or coated in cooking debris from the previous usage. Clean cooking pans and utensils produce a clean and delicious tasting recipe, it is as simple as that.

4. Large Ziploc Bag - Ziploc brand sealable plastic bags are the best container to use when marinating large meat cuts such as a pork loin. Ziploc products always offer a strong airtight seal and never leach any plastic particles into your meat, no matter how acidic your marinade is. They also come in huge sizes that are large enough to accommodate a thick and hearty pork loin. When you slide your pork loin into the refrigerator to marinate, you can turn your meat from time to time without having to worry about marinade seeping out and getting all over the place. Be sure to get a Ziploc brand bag for this recipe or another similarly high-quality sealable marination bag.

5. Locally Harvested Single-Source Organic Bees Honey - Any time that you buy bees honey, always opt for the locally grown single-source organic variety, as the flavor is off the charts when compared to mass-produced or multi-sourced honey. Single-source organic honey has that smooth and rich flavor that will send your brain into a temporary sensory vacation as it is swarmed by the sweet, smooth, and succulent flavor that only organic single-source bees honey can produce. Mass-produced multi-blended honey on the other hand, typically has a stale and syrupy flavor, almost as if you would be eating pure corn syrup that has been lightly flavored to resemble bees honey. The products are literally worlds apart, so be sure not to ruin the potential of this recipe with honey other than the very best. Trust us, once you taste the sweet and juicy pork loin you'll be happy that you took our advice.

6. Fresh Supply of Traeger Wood Pellets - If you don't have an adequate supply of Traeger grill compatible wood pellets then this recipe isn't getting off of the ground. Be sure that you have enough wood pellets to hold an internal fire pot temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius for 2 full hours. There is nothing worse than running out of wood pellets mid-way through a delicious recipe such as this, so always make sure that you have enough pellets to get the job done fully. Wood pellets are very affordable and easy to come by at any local supermarket chain or large grocery store. BBQ shops also stock them as well.

Servings: 8

Preparation Time: 10 Minutes

Cook Time: 2 Hours

Ingredients

  • 3 Pound Pork Loin Roast
  • 1 Large Diced Vidalia Onion
  • 3 Minced Garlic Cloves
  • 1 12 Ounce Bottle of Premium German Lager
  • 1 Teaspoon of Caraway Seeds
  • 1/3 Cup of Organic Single-Source Locally Harvested Bees Honey
  • 2 Tablespoons of Dijon Mustard
  • 1 Teaspoon of Dried Thyme
  • 3 Tablespoons of Dry Seasoned Pork Rub

Instructions

1. Place your pork loin roast, diced Vidalia onion, and minced garlic cloves into a large sealable Ziploc bag.

2. Take out a large mixing bowl and add into it the premium German lager, organic single-source locally harvested bees honey, Dijon mustard, caraway seeds, and dried thyme. Mix these ingredients together thoroughly with a metal whisk until a smooth and even marinade forms. Once you are done, pour all of the marinade liquid into the Ziploc bag containing the pork loin roast. Allow the pork to marinate overnight or for at least 8 hours.

3. Take the pork out of the Ziploc bag along with the onions and garlic. Rub the meat down thoroughly with the dry seasoned pork rub so that the entire surface area is covered. Place the seasoned pork, onions, and garlic into a large roasting pan.

4. Pour all of the marinade into a saucepan and bring these ingredients to a boil over a medium heat setting. Reduce the marinade liquid by approximately half.

5. Fire up your Traeger grill on a smoke setting. Be sure that the grill lid stays open until your fire is going. Set the temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius. Let the grill preheat for 10-15 minutes.

6. Slide your roasting pan on to your Traeger grill grate. Allow the meat to roast uncovered, with the fat side pointed up. Cook the meat for one hour. Once the hour has elapsed, carefully pour the reduced marinade over the top of the pork loin. Allow the meat to cook for another 30 minutes to an hour, occasionally basting the meat with the marinade.

7. Once your pork has attained an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit or 75 degrees Celsius you can remove it from the grill. You can begin cutting the pork loin after it has cooled for approximately 10 minutes. Garnish the meat with any liquids or juices still in the roasting pan.

Pro Grilling Tip - Be sure to reduce your marinade in the saucepan to the point that it is thick and syrupy. This will act as your primary flavor component. By the end of the cooking process, you will have a thick and sticky pork glaze that will taste like heaven itself.
